![I just saw this on a friend’s Facebook, who is obviously not from the United States. I’m not trying to rag on her or her friends at all; I actually happen to think she’s a really cool girl and I’m sure her friends are lovely.
I just…I wanted to comment and say that I’m an American paid several hundred to a thousand dollars each year to attend a public high school, not to mention what my parents and I pay in various taxes, which is what is really supposed to fund the school [I don’t know how the system works where she’s from]. Also, I was never taught intelligent design.
But their misconceptions are not the point. I just get really frustrated by bad apples ruining the bunch, by the people in the spotlight giving the whole group a bad name. You see it everywhere: holier-than-thou bigots giving Christians a bad name; Al Queda giving Arabs/Muslims a bad name; gays who shove it in people’s faces giving the entire LGBTQ community a bad name; etc, etc, etc.
