the system of all of this is hopelessly depressing. I have, for over a week, been trying to write a candidate assessment in which i reflect on my dispositions, how they will suit me in teaching, and THEN reflect on why reflecting on them will make me a better educator. news flash: IT WON’T. I already do this every day and have done this my whole life. assess who i am and what i do and why i do it. especially who i am. and how that relates to what i do. this is literally my everyday thought process. writing a paper about it doesn’t help me one single solitary bit. not one. not seven. exactly zero bits is how much it helps me. zero. fucking. bits.

and now i’ve started swearing. i was trying to stay exasperated and not stray into the realm of pissed off.

any moron can write this paper, telling the school of ed exactly what they want to hear. it’s like those million-question character surveys they make you take when you apply for a shitty minimum wage job at your local cvs or whatever. any moron can answer the questions with what an employer will want to hear. if not, it doesn’t make you a bad person, just an idiot. everything about assessment in the school of education is the exact same way. if i am very genuine and honest in completing these assessments, i will pass with flying colors. but the fact that any idiot can bullshit their way through it and achieve the same results makes it all worthless and therefore pointless.

i have infinitely more to say about this, but i can’t even continue this
